Water coming through the ceiling right now?Made safe first. Repair priced after.
Storm damage, slates hanging over the pavement, a leak that will not wait for a dry week. An emergency roofer makes the roof safe and stops the water first. Message us with the postcode and what you can see.
Moss was sliding off our tenement roof into the gutters every winter. They cleared the lot, took the gutters back to clean metal and treated the slates. First dry close in years.

Lead flashing round the chimney on our slate roof had lifted and the bedroom ceiling was marking. Surveyed it, priced it in writing, redressed the lead properly. No drama, no upsell.
Craig B., Bearsden Google
Flat roof on the kitchen extension started dripping during a downpour. They came out in the rain, patched it and stopped the water, then came back and put EPDM over the whole thing.
Margaret K., Shawlands Google
New guttering and fascias the full length of the house. Old timber was rotten behind the boards, which they showed me before touching it. Tidy job and the price did not move.
Tom R., Bishopbriggs Google
Chimney stack was shedding mortar onto the pavement. Repointed, new flaunching, cowls on both pots, lead tray at the base. Explained every step and left the close spotless.
Aileen D., Partick Google
Two slipped slates and a cracked ridge after the January storms. Fixed the same week, matched the slate, and the written quote came before anyone went up a ladder.

What happens first
Make it safe. Stop the water.Everything else waits.
When a gale has stripped a run of slates or a ridge tile is hanging over the pavement, the first job is to make it safe: loose pieces down, the hole covered, the water stopped from coming through the ceiling. That is a temporary cover, and we say so. Its job is to hold until the proper repair is surveyed and priced.
We do not price the full repair from the pavement in the rain, and we do not price it from a photo either. Once the roof is safe and dry inside, the survey looks at the whole roof, because a storm that took three slates has usually loosened more. The survey and the written price are how we work on every job, and an urgent one is no exception.
Slates and tiles hanging or on the ground
Ridge tiles lifted by the wind
Water through a ceiling or down a wall
Flashing torn away from a chimney
Then the repair
A written price for the proper fix.No pressure, no guess.
After the make-safe, the full repair goes in writing with the photographs from the roof, and it stays the price for the work described. You decide when it goes ahead. If the storm has shown that the roof is finished rather than damaged, the survey says so plainly; if it is damaged, the permanent fix is an ordinary roof repair with matched slates and new fixings.
The photographs and the itemised quote are written so they can be passed on to a factor, a landlord or the other owners in a tenement without rewriting. Once the repair is done it is photographed again from the roof, and the materials are warranty-backed with the terms in your paperwork.
Where we work
Glasgow first. Then every town the rain reaches.
The city and the towns around it, north and south of the Clyde. If yours is not on the list, send us the postcode and we will tell you straight.
Eight more roofing services.Same firm, same method.
Once the roof is safe, the rest of the job is a repair like any other, and every roofing service we offer is surveyed first and priced in writing.
Guttering & Fascias
Rotten fascia boards, sagging gutters and soffits that let the birds in, fixed as one run of roofline. We replace fascias and guttering together so the brackets hold and the water goes down the pipe.
Lifted lead flashing round chimneys, valleys and abutments is where most Glasgow leaks start. We strip the old lead work, dress new lead properly and seal the joint so the ceiling stays dry.
Ponding felt, blistered seams and a flat roof that drips in a downpour. We repair what can be saved and lay EPDM rubber roofing over what cannot, with the edges detailed for the rain.
Slipped slates, cracked tiles, a wet patch that shows up after every front. A roofer surveys the whole roof first, then the repair is priced in writing so you know exactly what is being fixed.
Slate or tile pitched roofing, repaired or replaced to match the street and carry the weight properly. Ridge, hip and valley work done in the same job, with the felt and battens checked underneath.
One roofing contractor for the full re-roof: strip, timber checks, felt, battens, new slates or tiles and the leadwork. Scaffold is sorted, the site is kept tidy and the price is fixed in writing.
Moss holds water against the slates and slides into the gutters every winter. Roof moss removal lifts it off by hand, clears the gutters and treats the roof so it stays off for far longer.
Loose pots, crumbling mortar and damp on the chimney breast mean the stack needs looking at. Chimney repair covers repointing, new flaunching, cowls and lead, or taking the stack down cleanly.
Tell us where the roof is.That is the whole first step.

Straight answers
Asked on mostGlasgow roofs.
If your question is not here, send it through the contact page and we will answer it about your roof rather than roofs in general. The longer answers, with the reasons behind them, live in our roofing guides.
01What counts as an emergency roof repair?
Anything that is dangerous or letting water in now. Slates or tiles hanging over a pavement or a path, a ridge lifted by the wind, water coming through a ceiling or running down a wall, flashing torn off a chimney in a storm. If it can wait for a dry day and a survey, it is a repair. If it cannot, message us and say what you can see.
02How soon can an emergency roofer get to me?
We tell you when you get in touch, not on a web page. A time promised here to everyone is a guess, and a guess is no use when the water is coming in. Send the postcode and what you can see, hanging slates, a wet ceiling, a hole, and you get a straight answer on when someone can be on the roof and what will be done first.
03Will the emergency repair be permanent?
No, and we say so. The make-safe stops the water and takes the danger off the pavement. It is a cover, not the repair. The permanent fix is surveyed once the roof is safe, matched to the existing slates or tiles and priced in writing, and you decide when it goes ahead.
04Do I have to agree the full repair on the day?
No. The make-safe is one job and the full repair is another with its own written price. No pressure at the door: you get the photographs from the roof and the itemised quote, and you decide when to go ahead. If the storm has shown that the roof is finished rather than damaged, the survey says so, and the re-roof is priced as a slate or tile re-roof with the make-safe already done.
05Do you make tenement roofs safe after a storm?
Yes. Slates off a tenement land on a busy pavement, so making it safe comes first and the shared-ownership conversation comes second. The photographs and the itemised quote are written to go round the close or to a factor, and we are used to one owner starting it and the rest joining once they have seen the pictures.
06Which areas do you cover for emergency roofing?
Glasgow and the towns around it: Rutherglen, Bishopbriggs, Bearsden, Giffnock, Renfrew, Cambuslang, Clarkston, Milngavie, Clydebank, Kirkintilloch, Newton Mearns, Paisley and the places between, each listed with its distance from the city under the areas we cover. Message us the postcode and what you can see from the ground and we will confirm.
